It is the first floor of the main chalet. Our accomodations offer you all the luxuries of home in a true Alaska setting. Palmer is located in the Matanuska Valley, about an hour's drive from Anchorage. We are a small, family run business, and can offer you a personalized vacation that you won't forget! Our central location is considered the gateway to Denali, and is ideal for sightseeing, hiking, hunting and fishing. Wildlife in the area includes moose, grizzly bears, black bears, dall sheep, goats, foxes and wolves. Our property borders state land offering miles of unspoiled beauty. Our guests, when not relaxing in deluxe accommodations or sightseeing, enjoy boating right in our front yard--Wolverine Lake, where moose, beavers, otters, loons, ducks, grebes and many other species of birds make their home. We provide boats and equipment for your personal use. Enjoy the midnight sunset in the eight person hot tub! Guests enjoy the Matanuska Valley's central location. Fish for salmon, cruise the fjords or see Mt. McKinley during your trip. If you are here during the end of August and beginning of September, Palmer is the location of the Alaska State Fair. There are other fun things locally that we recommend such as touring Independence Mine at Hatcher Pass, and visiting the reindeer farm where you can pet and feed reindeer and a bull moose!
