KORN Experiance Aloha Forever beginning October 5th, 2008 Now accepting 2009 date request, just email me with your desired date. My family and I were there over Thanksgiving (end of November) 2007. What an amazing property!!! While the lobby has less of an impact upon arrival as the older Westin Ka'anapali resort, almost every room has at least a partial view of the ocean. Scott Webster Date: July 7th, 2008From: Henry Prejean Rising from acres of pristine beach, The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas North places you ideally on Maui's west end, giving you enviable access to the refreshing blue of the Pacfic Ocean. Soak in breathtaking vistas of natural beauty while being able to enjoy the nearby cultural activities in the former whaling town of Lahaina. The Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas North welcomed its first guests in July 2007 and now The Westin is ready for your stay. Set along a pristine expanse of Ka’anapali’s North Beach, The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas is an uncommonly luxurious vacation rental opportunity… offering unique residences that embrace both Westin’s standard of quality and Maui’s most spectacular oceanfront vistas. “The Villas” are vacation homes of extraordinary comfort…masterfully designed, richly furnished, and impeccably finished. From magnificent ocean views to stately foyers and unprecedented amenities, the resort is in harmony with Hawaii's culture and environment. Enjoy quiet reflection alongside lush, rainbow-framed mountains. Replenish your spirit with relaxed strolls on Ka’anapali’ panoramic sandy beach. Engage your senses as you enjoy the finest in art, dining and Hawaiian culture. Let the sea recharge you, whether with a sail, whale-watching, snorkeling or simply watching the sun set. Your deposit is 50% down, non-refundable, with the balance due 60 days prior to your vacation. Your deposit may be in the form of check, money order, credit card, or paypal. You have the option of using First American Title a 100 year old company to handle your deposit and rental agreement for a small fee. Enjoy and discover the following in Maui... Maui Film festival - Fact 1: The Maui Film Festival premieres works that aren't carried by commercial cinema houses and juxtaposes their viewings against traditional island storytelling methods, including hula. The festival, the largest of its kind in the state, features tons of music, great food, and, as you might expect, that quintessential, laid-back island atmosphere. Demigod Maui Captured the sun! - Fact 2: According to local lore, the demigod Maui captured the sun while standing atop Haleakala Mountain in order to give his people more sunlight hours. No visit to this island paradise would be complete without taking in the inspiring sunrise from Haleakala's Pu'u 'Ula'ula summit. This is certainly a must if you want to share an unforgettable moment with that someone special just be sure you dress appropriately because dawn temperatures at Pu'u 'Ula'ula can get as low as 30°. Mai'ai - Fact 3: How hard could the spelling bee be? The Hawaiian alphabet consists of only 12 letters: a, e, i, o, u, h, k, l, m, n, p, and w. Of course, their okina ' is a true Hawaiian consonant, even though it looks like the English apostrophe. For example, Hawaiian for "come and eat" is "mai 'ai" (pronounced: "my-ee i-ee"). Stayed here over christmas week 2007. Agree with one of the other reviewers who said most of the rooms have at least a partial ocean view, and none have a bad view. Probably the nicest resort in kaanapali in terms of location, rooms, and resort amenities. Snorkling right off the beach was better than our boat trip to molokini. We were able to see plenty of turtles and exotic fish. Plus, plenty of dolphins and whales could be seen from the beach. We stayed in a 2-bedroom, 2-bath lock-out. Both bathrooms have jacuzzi hot tubs and large showers with frame-less glass doors. Kitchen could have used a better oven, but granite counter-tops and bar with stools were nice. Bedding was nice and included high thread count sheets and down comforters. 9 foot ceilings with crown molding throughout. Each room has its own washer/dryer set, which is convenient. Three, nicely-landscaped pools on the property. Crowds were light, and it was easy to get a lounge chair. Lots of activities for the kids. Overall, a wonderful experience. Michaell Anderson Snorkelers and Divers... - Fact 4: Molokini Island, located just out from Wailea and Makena Beaches, is a haven for snorkelers and divers. This semi-submerged crater and coral reef is home to a colorful cornucopia of marine life, including darting trumpet fish, manta rays, white reef sharks, and even an elusive whale shark or two. Haleakala - Fact 5: Aside from being a favorite haunt of artists and lovebirds, Haleakala Mountain also attracts wide-eyed stargazers, who head to Science City on the northeast side of the mountain. Mahi Mahi - Fact 6: Pan-seared mahi mahi, tiger-eye ahi sushi, kalua suckling pig, pineapple compote, and ahi tuna tartare...The regional cuisine you'll sample on Maui ranks among the best in the world not to mention the most colorful. October 14, 2007 The first 146 villas only became available in July, 2007. In December 2007, the remaining 112 villas will open - a total of 258 villas when completed. Don't forget it's located right next door to the old Westin Ka‘anapali Ocean Resort Villas -- which can also be enjoyed if that's your preference. North is on its own 11 beachfront acres -- on what is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Poolside has great casual dining at the Pailolo Bar & Grill -- burgers, sandwiches, and salads or you can BBQ yourself at the poolside grills. As of September they opened Pulehu, the resort‘s fine dining restaurant, with a great variety of steak and seafood. You've got three awesome swimming pools, including two hot tubs and a separate area children‘s pool with clubhouse and play area, including a large pirate ship, slides and water cannons for its Keiki Club program. In addition to having full use of the services and amenities next door, you also get the other Starwood resorts on Maui, including The Westin Maui Resort & Spa and the Sheraton Maui Resort, and have charges billed back to your villa. And there's the complimentary shuttle service between the resorts and Lahaina, the Whalers Village, etc. By December 2007 we'll have two more lagoon-style pools with the opening of the mauka (mountain) and adult swimming pools. They're still building a full-service luxurious spa and signature fitness room, powered by Reebok, opening February 2008. The final completion of the resort is scheduled for March 2008. Mark Johnson Lindbergh - Fact 7: Charles A. Lindbergh is buried in the quiet cemetery beside Palapala Ho'omau Church in Kipahulu. The simple grave of the aviator, made famous for his flight across the Atlantic, contains only his name, dates (1902-1974), and the first part of Psalm 139: "If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea..." More than 10,000 feet... - Fact 8: Haleakala Crater, which spreads out over 25 square miles, is larger than most "big" US cities. The crater sits at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet, making it a spectacular sight from passing jet planes. Haleakala's last recorded eruption took place in the late 18th century, but little geologic activity has been reported in the years since, leading many to deem the volcano dormant. Paradise - Fact 9: Located about seven miles southwest of Hana, Wailua and Kanahualui Falls offer picture-perfect images of the island's corporeal beauty: two narrow streams falling from a precipice into a cool blue reservoir ringed with exotic vegetation. Could there be a better representation of paradise? Beautiful Royal Estate - Fact 10: Lahaina's Maluuluolele Park, a public greenspace, was once the site of a beautiful royal estate. However, the residence was razed in 1918, and the surrounding sacred pond was filled in soon after. Today, city leaders are leading the charge toward reclaiming the area and preserving its history. Set amid the Hawaiian archipelago, this lush island, formed from two volcanoes, was once the home of Hawaiian royalty. Through the years, it also served as a base for Christian missionaries, a port of call for whaling vessels, and the site of Hawaii 's most productive sugar cane and pineapple plantations. Today, that eclectic heritage still exists, adding to the texture of cultures that is modern-day Maui . Stunning resorts now occupy the island's west coast, along with Lahaina, a hip seaside town and long-ago Polynesian capital. The eastern seaboard is occupied by the mountainous rainforest region of Hana and Haleakala National Park , home to some of the region's most spectacular natural beauty. Gorgeous beaches accommodate any water sport imaginable, and the island's quaint towns invite exploration and discovery. Steeped in history and simultaneously commercial and rugged, Maui is caressed by the sun and cradled by the sea a Pacific destination just this side of paradise. Click here right now to make your reservations today! Just returned from the Westin Kaanapali, staying January 20 to 27, 2008. We were in a one bedroom on the second floor, over looking the childrens' pool. Westin has done a great job with this property. The furniture, televisions, beds, and linin are all high end. We used the shuttle service to go to Lahaina and down to the Whalers' Village, it was very handy. The only complaint would be that the Westin complex is so big. Tom T. The things I like the most at the Westin Ocean Villas: The shower heads and comfortable beds. The staff is faboulos. Jessie the bellman is our favorite. Parking and internet is free. I have seen those as much as $20 each at some places. The BBQ's are great. We always plan on at least one night at the pool BBQ. It is easy to snk beers and ocktails down there as they never come check. The hot tubs and pools say they close at 10pm but we are usually there until midnight and have never been told to leave. The safe in the room is nice for those of us who still use cash...The balcony's are big and scenic. We wvwn slep on night on out balcony on the lounge chairs. Scuba at the resort. It is $100 but worth every penny, they even take you to the ocean. There is a $5 drink special every day.....Use it, yesterday I went to the Grand Wyalaya and paid $12 per drink and $4.50 for a soda at the pool. Ouch..... Helpful hints: COSTCO WHEN YOU FIRST LAND......Rent a car as you are a 5 minute ride to Lahaina and 40 minutes to the airport. Go to BiG Beach and Litle Beach if you feel wild. (Little beach is Nude).. Cool Kat cafe has a great live act during dinner Sunday & Wednesday. Pioneer Inn for Breakfast. Kobe restuarant is a joke... Go to a Luau for sure. Old Lahaina is probably the best. Hana is way too far and a scarry ride. I went half way and turned around. Save the gas.. No matter where you stay, COME TO MAUI !!!! You will love it here............. Joe Jackson Spectacular snorkling right off the beach. Glorious sunsets, too! The ammenities are top notch. The staff friendly and helpful at all times.
